Week 7 in Marksville: "All is Well in Zion"
Bonjour amis et familles!
Good news! We have survived quarantine relatively unscathed! Elder Kephart can even taste again!
MISSIONARY MOMENTS OF THE WEEK
We had little opportunity to teach people or do other things where we could have cool moments with people, since we only got out of quarantine on Saturday.
The first thing we did on Saturday that we couldn't do while in quarantine was help build an extension for the house of a family in the branch. We were there for 5 hours and got the whole wall in place - at least the wood part of it! It wasn't as spiritually uplifting or enriching as a great lesson or a cool finding experience, but it does highlight the 'other half' of missionary service - the service part of it! I love all of the chances I get to go and do projects like that and I've really been missing them these past two weeks since we've been quarantined.
FUNNY QUOTE OF THE WEEK
This week's edition isn't necessarily a 'quote' - in the sense that it was something original that came up in conversation - but it was said aloud. 'Tis a joke!
"What did Jesus say to Malchus?"
"Happy New Ear!"
Elder Kephart came across this and I literally spit out my water due to laughter.
SCRIPTURE/SPIRITUAL THOUGHT OF THE WEEK
Alma 50:16-17, 23:
"16 And thus ended the twentieth year.
17 And in these prosperous circumstances were the people of Nephi in the commencement of the twenty and first year of the reign of the judges over the people of Nephi.
23 But behold there never was a happier time among the people of Nephi, since the days of Nephi, than in the days of Moroni, yea, even at this time, in the twenty and first year of the reign of the judges."
What an apropos scripture for this new year! The 'twentieth year' might not have been as 'prosperous' as we might have hoped, but, as we start the 'twenty and first year', let us all take time to see what the Lord has blessed us with, so that we can look back and see that 'there never was a happier time.'
Bonne année à tous! (Happy New Year to all!)

PICTURE: WHEEL!
(If you want the whole story of why the wheel is broken I'll give it to you - it's pretty funny)
