1st full week in Marksville: I meet a 'certified farmer'

 Bonjour amis et familles!

Well, I did it! One full week in the field! And boy am I excited for all the weeks to come!

MISSIONARY MOMENTS OF THE WEEK

I had not 1 but 2 lessons with the guy we met at WalMart this week! They were so cool. In the first lesson, we read 3 Nephi 11 with him, where Christ comes and ministers to the people in the Americas, and he let out many audible 'wows'. In the second lesson, we watched the Bible video of Christ's resurrection. I felt the Spirit so strongly while watching it and I know he did too.

On Friday, we did some service at a 'certified farmer''s house (his words). This guy in the branch and his family basically own all the minifauna you can think of: pigs, chickens, dogs, cats, geese, goats, and a turkey. I'm not in the suburbs anymore, Toto.

FUNNY QUOTE OF THE WEEK

"I'm going to destroy my stomach."
Elder Kephart is a funny guy. He said this after grabbing the largest bowl in the cupboard and presumably filling it with ice cream.

SCRIPTURE/SPIRITUAL THOUGHT OF THE WEEK

Luke 12:12:
"For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say."

Not gonna lie to y'all. I was super super nervous going into my first lesson with an actual person and not a paid actor. For a moment last Monday, I hoped the guy would cancel. But I found a lot of comfort in this verse throughout the week that I came across in my personal study. I know that if I rely on the Spirit for guidance, I shouldn't and won't be worried about saying the wrong thing or anything of that sort. And as it turned out, our lessons went super super well.

If y'all have any questions on what I've been teaching and learning, please ask me questions! I'd be delighted to have the privilege of answering them!
Also: there's so much that I don't put in these emails to keep them at a good length, so if you want exclusive details, please let me know and I'll try my best to give you the inside scoop!

Geaux Tigahs,

Elder May
